Talent Brief: September

Talent Brief from Staff Smart, Inc.

Here’s an update in the big picture of IT recruiting and staffing this season–

  • First, the August Job Report: The U.S. added a lower number of jobs than expected: 151,000 (down from 13% from August 2015). Meanwhile, staffing employment grew by 1.2% while IT staffing is racing ahead with a 3.5% increase YOY. This is considered a deceleration. Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance comments on why, “[It’s] attributable to multiple factors, including apprehension over the global macroeconomic environment as well as a chronic shortage in high demand skill sets.”
